ArtsLink NB’s CATAPULT Arts Accelerator gives New Brunswick artists the tools to be prolific & build sustainable careers. Business skills training, career development, workshops, and mentorship – all in one program. Artists need the work habits that would allow any entrepreneur or small business owner to succeed in his/her field. Good time management. Solid record keeping and sound financial management. Effective self-promotion and professionalization of your brand. Telling a good story and being heard. Knowing how to write a contract. CATAPULT is all about helping you to be purposeful and organized about the business side of your artistic practice. Over a 12-week period, CATAPULT participants receive training in fundamental entrepreneurial skills like business modelling, marketing, branding, financial planning, and exporting. Guest speakers and facilitators for the CATAPULT workshops are drawn both from the business and professional art community. Participants also receive one-on-one coaching from the program coordinator and formal mentorships from individuals operating at the top of their field.

ArtsLink NB is now accepting mentee applications for the 2026-2027 Mentorship program. ArtsLink NB runs an intensive year-long mentorship program that connects artists who aspire to learn, grow, and expand their practice (mentees) with those who wish to share their professional experience, skill, and guidance (mentors). This program builds on traditional mentorship models, encouraging reciprocity and cross-disciplinary collaborations between mentor and mentee. While there is support from ArtsLink, mentorships are self directed, each with their own set of goals, so they are as valuable as possible to each mentee-mentor pairing. Mentorships will run from October 2026 – October 2027, with progress reports due at the 6-month and 12-month marks.

Introspect: a nature residency is a low-tech residency; a return to the simplest forms of creation. The residency will focus on the essentials, eliminating all potential distractions by limiting the use of screens and other technologies, to focus entirely on the process of creation.

New Brunswick Professional Artist Accreditation: According to the Status of the Artist Act professional artists are entitled to national industry fee standards and detailed contracts. Professional Artist Accreditation is a way of protecting these new employment rights. Accredited professional artists will appear in a public database, creating a visible network of professional artists that can be used by engagers across government, the cultural sector, and the wider community. Accreditation is completely voluntary. Artists can continue their practices and work for organizations and entities without being accredited. However, artists who wish to compete for certain government contracts and commissions will need to be accredited to qualify for these opportunities.

The Creative Wellness Program is a transformative initiative designed to uplift and support the mental health of New Brunswick’s artists. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by artists — such as precarious employment, limited access to affordable mental health care, and the emotional toll of creative work — the program provides a safe and accessible space for healing and growth. Over three months, 25 artists will have the opportunity to engage in free, personalized counseling sessions tailored to their specific needs. Each participant will receive six, hour-long sessions with one of ten highly skilled counseling interns, trained to provide compassionate and effective mental health support.
