The Spaces Between States of Being: JJ Lee on her 20 Years of Work

On July 13, 2017, at 5:30PM, Gallery On Queen will be hosting a talk with Chinese-Canadian artist JJ Lee about her career and works. “Through mixed media paintings and drawings, I explore the space between states of being, cultures, histories, identities, representation and abstraction as a result of contemporary global life. Reconstructing the “mashup” and intersections of Chinese and Western cultures on a flat picture plane, I mix up different pictures from diverse sources with various drawing and painting media.”
